Bucket Hat Crochet Pattern for Beginners
When I thought to name this bucket hat crochet pattern Pretty in Spring, it felt just right. I think Spring is one of the loveliest seasons. There is a freshness and newness in the atmosphere when flowers bloom and the birds chirp.

If you have not, could you read the about page?. I like to think that bucket hats are a must-have accessory in every closet. They not only serve as a fashionable accessory, they come in handy on bad hair days as well. And let’s be honest, as a mother we’ve had our fair share of bad hair days.
When I first started making this bucket hat, I wasn’t sure whether to include child sizes. The reason for this is because children can get finicky when it comes to wearing clothing accessories. Comfort is always the watchword for them. But after seeing some very cute photos of girl hats, I said, ‘heck, I’m gonna make for little girls too’.

I wanted to create something that a girl will love to wear so I added some flowers, which you will get as a bonus in the printable PDF pattern. I can just visualize this easy bucket hat in all the pretty shades they can be made in.
The design is such a comfortable fit and I like the flower addition, which is an optional feature if flowers are not your thing ( flowers are not really my thing either, but I have to admit I love how they look on this bucket hat, and that makes me want to wear it all the time).
You can wear it down or fold it slightly at the side. Pair it with your casuals and be on your way.

CONSTRUCTION
This crochet bucket hat is really simple to make because it uses only one basic stitch, the single crochet. This makes it a great beginner project if you are relatively new to crochet, know the basics but have not experimented much. It is worked from to bottom in spiral rounds, save for the last two rounds. This is a pretty straightforward pattern that you may eventually be able to memorize.
As an aside, if you want to prevent your increases from shaping to become a hexagon, you should check out the tutorial on making the perfect crochet circle.

Does this hat REALLY take 425 meters of yarn??? That seems like a lot.
You are right, it does use less. I miscalculated. Changes have been made.
Love this hat!! Thank you for sharing your free pattern.
Going to make for my friends and family!!
hugs,
Gramz
That would be great.
