Designing this Chunky Crochet Boys Sweater was really fun. Seeing as most of Yarn Craftee designs have been geared toward females, it was a nice change to crochet a different kind of project.

Chunky Crochet Boys Sweater- 1

*This pattern was previously published on craft-her.com. This is the most recent, updated pattern.

One thing I will say about this chunky crochet boys sweater pattern is that it is one of the easiest projects you can make. While it uses the Alpine stitch technique (to make it textures), it give the sweater more thickness which results in a cozier fabric.

Another thing is the yarn. It is just the right thickness between worsted and chunky weight yarn. Not too heavy, not thin either. It also works up fast, so, you wouldn’t need to spend a long time on the project. If you really committed to this chunky crochet sweater pattern, you can complete it in 2 weeks or less.

Chunky Crochet Boys Sweater

CONSTRUCTION

This crochet boys sweater is worked from down up, row by row. After it is all done, the sides are seamed. It is also written for ages 2 to 10, so please ensure that you consult the table guide for the size you are making.

To make it easy to follow the guide, I have split the pattern to parts.

  • Part 1- body of sweater
  • Part 2- crochet the sleeves and seam the sides
  • Part 3- trim the neckline
