There is a lot to like about a Crochet Mini Scarf. It is an easy and quick way to turn small pieces of yarn into something beautiful.

Scarves will always make a great addition in any closet, as they are light, easy to style and just generally add a nice aesthetic to an outfit. This Bookworm Crochet Mini Scarf is one to have in one’s closet.
THE INSPIRATION
Take a good look at the Bookworm Mini Scarf, what does this crochet mini scarf remind you of? I have to admit, when I set out to design this mini scarf I did not have this idea in mind. I was going to end the last eighteen rows the same way as the beginning, with the light blue and peach colours. However, the idea occurred to me mid-way to design the Bookworm Crochet Mini Scarf to resemble a pencil, and I’m so glad I followed that intution

GREAT FOR BEGINNER CROCHET
Crocheting this Crochet Mini Scarf is really easy. It uses basic stitches of single and double crochet, it is also easy to memorise. If you already know how to do the basic stitches, you will see that this crochet mini scarf is the type you can chill with as you watch a show or chat with family, friends in a relaxed atmosphere. Just like the Beautiful You Crochet Skinny Scarf.
It is a great beginner crochet project to try, it will guide you through how to change yarn colours, and how to decrease with the double crochet. It will in the long run help you practice making better stitches as you repeatedly crochet each stitch, thus in the long run improving your tension and hook manipulation.
YARN
I know that a lot of people do not like the hassle of changing colours in a project. In this pattern though you can make use of little pieces of left over yarn you have around, so long as they are the same yarn weight. And if you do not have those yarns around, you only need a little over 150 meters of yarn to complete the project. See amounts you need in the materials section. You can use either a sport weight yarn (as in this pattern) or a DK weight yarn.
CUSTOMISE
Once you complete the first 2 colours (peach and light blue), you will use the third colour (blue) to make as many rows as you want the length to be. Your last row with the blue colour should be a Double Crochet row. After that, the last 2 colours will be used for the remaining rows.
