This post stitch crochet square was a very spur of the moment design. I’m not the best at crocheting squares, in fact, I have always avoided crocheting squares. Recently, I have been exploring more design options, and sometimes crocheting just for the fin of it- if it ends up on the blog, great, if it does not, that’s fine too.

Even though I mentioned that I do not enjoy crocheting squares, I have crocheted more since I last designed the Simple Post Stitch Square. The In Bloom Square and the Puff Stitch Granny Square are two easy ones you can makes as well. In fact, one of them was turned into a beautiful pocket scarf, and the other a cute tote bag. For a more intermediate design, you really want to see the Helix Square.

How to Use the Post Stitch Crochet Square Motif

As listed above, you can turn crochet squares into almost any other form; blankets, bags, clothing, as far as you can imagine. I initially began to make a vest with these squares, but had to pause due to some calculation errors (p.s- math is not a strength of mine). From the photo you can see that this simple post stitch square can also be used as a coaster, that was totally accidental. I did not have that in mind, until i began to take photos of the square- turns out I had a cup of tea nearby, I placed in on one of the squares, and BAM- photo idea! Haha.
